When I realized I wanted to be Lisa Frank we started looking for all the sparkly rainbow stuff we could find within our budget. Literally an hour before the Halloween party we decided that Dodd-Frank needed a big pencil and I improvised with plastic bags, envelopes, tape, permanent market, and toilet/paper towel roll tubes to make the masterpiece you see the regs being written in! Also, in case you didn’t recognize that I was the living personification of the Lisa Frank brand, I did some quick black and white print-outs of her old school (read: 80s!) logo to put on my back, notebook, and name-tag*. We were in a rush so I promise all of you that next time I break this costume out, I’ll do them in color. Also, we had plans to use red ribbon in the Dodd-Frank costume as “red tape” but we were in a rush so we’ll have to break that out next time too!
*Yes, we needed name tags because our high concept marriage of totally unrelated things was only tenuously connected by our names so we slapped on the name tags and got silly.
